2026 Polyurea Market Outlook Report Published

The AP Research Committee has published the 2026 American Polyurea Market Outlook Report, an exclusive benefit for AP members. Key findings from this year’s report include:

  • The U.S. polyurea market is projected to reach $1.04 billion by 2029, representing a CAGR of 8.4% from 2024.
  • Infrastructure rehabilitation (water/wastewater, bridges, parking structures) is the fastest-growing application segment, driven by federal spending through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
  • Pipeline coatings continue to represent the largest single application category by volume, accounting for approximately 34% of all U.S. polyurea consumption.
  • The residential market (garage floors, basement waterproofing, pool decks) grew 22% in 2025, driven by increased DIY awareness and social media marketing by applicators.
  • Supply chain conditions have normalized significantly since the disruptions of 2022–2023, with MDI pricing stable and amine raw material availability improving.

The full report is available in the member resource center.

EPA Finalizes NESHAP Guidance on Fast-Cure Polyurea

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency finalized updated guidance in April 2026 clarifying VOC exemption status for certain fast-cure polyurea coatings under the NESHAP Surface Coating regulations. American Polyurea’s Government Affairs Director William Farrow participated in the public comment process and submitted detailed technical comments on behalf of the membership. The final guidance is largely favorable for the industry, confirming that properly formulated 100%-solids polyurea systems qualify for the reactive VOC exemption in most application categories.

Members can access a summary of the final EPA guidance in the AP Technical Library, along with our Government Affairs team’s analysis of what this means for your operations.
