American Polyurea Crosses 1,200 Active Members Nationwide

American Polyurea has officially surpassed 1,200 active members across its seven regional chapters, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s growth since expanding its chapter structure in 2022. The announcement was made by the organization’s editorial team alongside the release of updated chapter membership statistics for the first half of 2026.

Growth by the Numbers

Membership has grown 23% year-over-year, driven primarily by expansion in the South Central Chapter (Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kansas), which added 31 new members in the first half of 2026 alone. The Southeast and Midwest chapters were close behind, each adding more than 24 new members in the same period.

Total membership across all seven chapters now stands at 1,277, with an average chapter meeting attendance of 47 members per session. The South Central Chapter’s monthly meeting in Houston in May 2026 drew 78 attendees — a single-meeting record for the organization.

What’s Driving Growth

“We’re seeing two main drivers,” said Rodrigo Castillo, South Central Chapter co-chair. “First, new applicators entering the industry who want a community and mentorship. Second, established contractors who’ve been operating independently and are now recognizing the business value of the network — referrals, supplier relationships, and staying current on specifications.”

The expansion of the organization’s content library has also brought new members through organic discovery. The complete polyurea coating guide, FAQ page, and applications overview collectively receive thousands of visits monthly from contractors researching polyurea before joining.

What’s Next

The organization is targeting 1,500 members by the end of 2026 and is exploring the launch of two additional chapters — a Great Plains chapter (Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, South Dakota) and a Mid-Atlantic chapter (Maryland, Delaware, Washington DC, West Virginia) — to better serve members in those regions.

Really proud of what the South Central chapter has built. A lot of the growth here is people who came in through referrals from existing members — that word of mouth is the most powerful thing we have. Congrats to the whole team.

  3. The Southeast chapter numbers are exciting. We were at 140 members two years ago. Credit to everyone who brings a colleague or a supplier contact to a meeting. The community grows itself when the value is there.

  5. Pacific chapter is still the smallest but we’re the most specialized! 178 members and almost all of them do municipal work. That focus makes our meetings incredibly practical — everyone in the room has faced the same problems.
